I have studied Prehistoric Archaeology, Ancient History and Social Anthropology at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster and written my M.A. thesis about Westphalian Bronze Age swords and spearheads under supervision of Prof. Jockenhövel.

Since August 2011 I am working on the project “Technische Untersuchungen an älterbronzezeitlichen Vollgriffschwertern aus Dänemark und Schleswig-Holstein” (Technical research on Early Bronze Age full-hilted swords from Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein), which is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen under supervision of Prof. Willroth.

My main research interests are:
- Bronze Age and Iron Age in Central and Northern Europe
- Metal craft and its organisation
- Conflict and violence in prehistory
- Archaeometallurgy
- Material culture studies
