Since 1 March 2011 I work as assistant professor ('wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin') at the Department of German at Georg-August-University Göttingen, Germany. My past affiliation is the Faculty of Arts at VU University Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where I conducted my PhD research on Metaphor in Academic Discourse as part of the research group 'Metaphor in Discourse' (team leader Prof. Gerard Steen). My resaerch included expert-novice differences in technical language processing, the interplay of metaphor and word class distribution across registers, and metaphor identification at the linguistic and conceptual levels of analysis. I am interested in Metaphor Studies, as well as in Narratology, (First) Language Acquisition, the Empirical Study of Literature, and Text Structures in general.
